If you are anything like me - you have dozens of icons on you desktop, and waste time every day looking for the ones you want.
I have no relationship to the company that makes this software, just started using it last night - but for a quick (yet customizable) way to organize all those icons on your desktop - you owe it to yourself to check out "Fences" by Stardock. It's freeware for personal use (at least for now).
It works on XP, Vista and Win 7 both 32 and 64bit (sorry Mac users ;-( )
Here is a link to find out more if you're interested:

I'd be curious to see others feedback here - I know we creative types are sometimes disorganized - but please leave any feedback. I have already set mine up and will seldom make changes - but I'm always curious to find out how others experiences workout (all my friends on FT have a much more valuable and credible meaning to me).

Maybe it's just me Bill, but but I don't like installing programs that use the computer resources if it's not necessary, and in this instance I would think it's not.
I have a simple way of doing the same kind of thing using only Windows. All I've done is to add a folder to my desktop, in that goes all of the icons that I don't want on the desktop,
It's a very simple way of doing the same thing, and within that folder can be as many sub-folders as you want...
It doesn't use the computer resources or as some of these type of things tend do...slow it down!

I do to some extent still, used to do much more. I don't have resource problems - 64 bit plenty of ram and a very, very fast drive and processor.
I'm a little too impatient to use many folders, it's bad enough that my pics on all the external drives are several folders deep...:-) At any given time I usually have 8-10 folders open, spanning subjects and drives.
I'm looking forward to Win 7, it seems to run 10-15% faster. I expect compatibility to be better too.
