I'm having the same problem!
The home page shows as the log-in page, when I click on log-in it tells me I'm already logged in.....I know that as I never logged out in the first place..!

Normally I would agree, but today I got splendid and very quick support. Things may not be as bad as we thought!

I can confirm this.
A friendly inquiry of support (not a nasty attack) gets a fast reply.

Late last night (Canada time) I send an email to support.
This morning I found a reply in my email from Nick/Eggy.
Could not have been any faster.
He is working on it and asked me a few more questions to pinpoint the problem.
It was really great to discover that our good friend eggy is still around:):)

Eggy is working on it.
He asks for your patience for about a week.
He is rewriting the login / authentication part of FT at the moment,
and there's a disk and server migration coming up early next week.
Following that all should be back to normal.

If you're now being asked to log in, even though you never logged out, just click on "my Fotothing" and it should restore it back to normal.
If you are a PRO member but do see ads on login, just follow the above and the ads will disappear.

I'm glad Eggy is on the case but communication from ADVFN has been somewhat lacking overall - photo competitions and newsletters for example.

So what does "back to normal" actually mean? Surely it takes more than fixing obvious and major faults?

It means back to a state similar to last week.
Do not blame Eggy, he is not the culprit.
Last year ADVFN re-assigned his responsibilities and it is no longer exclusively Fotothing.

Totally agree with that John....Eggy is doing what he can within the restrictions placed on him, personally I have found him to be very helpful and responsive.
I am sure he would like to do much more for us but.....it's the piper (paymaster) that calls the tune!

As John said, Eggy is working on it. There will be some down time early next week but after that things should be OK.....so till then please cut Eggy some slack.

I don't think anyone is trying to blame Eggy as he doesn't decide the policy. And thanks for the fix by the way! :)

For some us "normal" was competitions and newsletters and communications about what was going on and responses to suggestions made in forums etc.

If ADVFN have no interest in keeping this side of things going at least they should say so openly so we can know what we can expect and what we cannot.
