i use CS3 to tweak my RAW files. not too much mind, levels, hue, saturation and unsharp mask. i then save as JPEG. if i then post the image on fotothing or open it in program other than CS3 such as the canon zoom browser etc, the impact is lost and the images look pale and lack lustre. if i open them again in CS3 they look fine so i dont think its not the way im saving them? really frustrating!!!

I have found that almost all image viewers/editors will display any given image differently.

The ones that are most consistent for me (compared to PS) are GimpShop (free and a more user friendly version of Gimp), Picasa3 (free) and Paint Shop Pro (regular or Ultimate) (from $59 - $99USD). IrfanView (regular or Thumbnail) does a decent job too.

Your monitor and video card can also make a difference in how you are able to view pics in different programs.

Maybe not a solution for you - but I hope a little help.

Save them using the sRGB color space and they will look fine in Fotothing.

if your camera takes your photos in one colour profile and your editing software is another you will see colour differences the same goes with other programs.... try changing your settings on all to srgb or rgb ...

It's FOTOTHING ugh

I just edited this picture

Uploaded it here and when it came up I was like WTF happened to it! Dull and lifeless and subdued colors....

So I uploaded it to Flickr and it looks the way it's supposed to.... the way it looks in my PS program

Something is totally lost in the uploading here. I've heard pictures aren't as sharp either unless you open the full size view. I know there was a thread on that somewhere in here... last year maybe.
