I have a cannon 1000D
it has recently started displaying error 99 when I take photos I have to remove battery to reset then it works a couple of times then back to error is this a fault or something I am doing wrong had no luck reading instructions and web searches
any help appreciated

Try cleaning the lens contacts between camera body and lens... error 99 is often due to bad contacts...

Add to the 1000D - the newest Rebel and/or (if you can get one!) the Canon G9
