can any one HELP me please i am looking at editing photo's turning them into Black and White and having one small object left colour....... i dont have photoshop and would love to be able to do itany ideas, i used photoimpact a lot.....................HELP

I've never used photoimpact but can tell you how to do it in photoshop. I'm not sure if the technique is transferable. But the way to do it is this:
1. Load in the colour image and correct the levels.
2. Create new layer via copy
3. Remove the colour from the new layer
4. Select the area that you want in colour
5. Use the erase tool to remove the selected area
6. You should now see the coloured area. Flatten the layers and save.
Your done!

You could do it the easy way....buy a new camera!
I'm using the Canon Powershot SX10 IS, it has the ability to do exactly that in camera. :-)

I've found PS CS4 the easiest of them all so far... Convert, quick mask is already in the layer, grab a brush and go at it...

You can also do it in Gimp which is like photoshop but is a free download and a bit more complicated to use.

every time i download and try to use picasa i loose my disc drive WHY any body got any answers

I think there is something else going on - adware, malware or a virus - this shouldn't occur. If you have security s/ware- use it and check.
If you need software for any of these - go to cnet.com, looking for AVG anti-virus, Spybot - Search and Destroy and Adware - all are free and not only the most popular but very comprehensive programs.
