First time I have looked at one of these .. maybe it is a yearly thing ?? ... I see updated 11/9/08 ... I assume for one year ... what about the other 149 Advfn´s websites ?

it expires means that it's paid until the date. many pay their domains once a year and it's quite often on "automatic" payment... there is no reason to let your domain expire as it is worth way more if you sell it than the fee you need to pay for keeping it. you sell your domain rather than let it fall for others to register .....
my own domain expires in february and I know that a month from now it will say it expires february next year...

2 of mine bill bi-annually - so that could be part - + like Kaska said - that just shows expiration not intent....
however, if it's not on auto-bill, is there anybody there to turn the lights back on??

I can't affect what Advfn does (keeps, sells, closes site) so I am not going to spend time and energy worrying about it. I'll put my time and resources to enjoying the site now, which I certainly do . Maybe that's selfish of me .. I'm sorry.

That's actually a very healthy view to take Roger - I would like to be in that state myself. I've been trying for 1/2 a century to control things beyond my power - not something I would recommend to anyone.

Yes I've learned that it's not a good way to be Bill!
Since my move here to Spain I've adopted a more Spanish way of dealing with things.... the mañana attitude to life, any other way here would make you blow a gasket, no matter how you try it's impossible to change or speed things up!
Most things seem to sort themselves out in the long run though without any intervention from me, so I'm taking each day as it comes!
