Has anyone made a book with "Blurb"?
We're looking into it for our Venturer expedition that we just did. Something for the kids to keep at home as a concrete memory.

I haven't used this Blurb - but I have made books at:
Shutterfly.com
Kodakgallery.com
Walmart.com
Snapfish.com
Walgreens.com
All of which have comparable pricing, similar styles to choose from and for the books I've had made - fairly consistent quality and relatively accurate color.
Except for Shutterfly, you have to navigate to the photo section to move on from there. I usually use the one that is having a sale - the quality and reliability from my experiences has been more than acceptable for my clients.

I've made one Blurb book, and loads of Lulu ones. I think they all come from the same printers. (I had a book from Lulu covered in Blurb stickers)
Make sure you have your color management right or you will be shocked at how wrong the pictures can be.

Thanks for the heads up on that one.

A quick follow up on that....
If we print the photos at a photo lab (and ask them NOT to correct) and we like the outcome - can we expect the colours to be good in the book?

Jagged will know better.
But I think it depends on the printing method.
I make my books by assembling the bits in a DTP program, saving as a PDF and then they print the PDF.
The one time I forgot to make sure my pictures were in the colour space they requested I got muddy rubbish back. Blurb say they want your pictures in sRGB, that's where I went wrong, I use Adobe RGB and forgot to convert.
Here's Blurb's guide to getting the colour right:

I just used Walgreen's (recently - Dec) to do 2 calendars and 5 books for clients, the color was amazingly close to what I see on my screen. My screen may be off, but regardless I was satisfied (more importantly the clients were ecstatic) with the results.
Although the different labs use different processes, inks processors and so on, they have become so standardized that I have started buying based on a combination of price and delivery speed needed.

Hans I can't think of any way you could do it aside from going to the album, click on large view & downloading each photo one-by-one.
For the future - a couple of thoughts:
I have a separate folder that is highly organized (category, subject then year - would make a few changes if I could start over but not after 6000 pics) containing every shot I have ever posted on Fotothing.
You may have also noticed that some time back I started added a "coded" 6 digit number in my tags which is simply the date taken. Since I don't throw away anything, I can just go to the original file and re-edit from there.
Hope that helps.
