I was wondering what is the best way to copy old photo slides to my computer. It`s so I can add old photographs to my fotothing account. I heard you can buy a scanner specially made for this purpose, but don`t seem to see them around the shops....
Any tips on scanning slides to the computer will also be of help.

i haven't done anything of that sort, but i'd guess it's like scanning negatives. with negatives, you basically put a piece of white paper behind them, select what you want to scan, and scan at a high resolution, then invert the colors so it's no longer negative. i'd assume slide film is similar, but without the inverting. good luck. we did go over negative scanning in my digital photo class, but i've never done it myself.

it depends on how many slides you have.
it you have a lot - consider buying a slide scanner - scanning slides or negatives on a regular scanner is very limiting
there are service companies that will scan your slides for you too
to find either - google...:-)

I own a Nikon Coolscan V ED. It scans negatives as well as positives. I'm not sure of the different of models but I did pay over $700 for it a few years back. I bought it when I found out that our local shop who scans slides for the public charges a arm and two legs. Scanning 75 slides was the same price as a scanner and the scanner does a better job. I have several thousand so it only made sense.
