Righto scavenger hunt teams :)
First of all, apologies to marijke06 for choosing items that can't be found in all countries. An early draft of the list from the Fotothing Intern included 'Canadian Geese' and a 'Nintendo SNES Console' !!!
We'll make sure that next time round we choose items that can be found in EVERY country. I particularly like the 'act of charity' and the 'clock showing a specific time' ones.
I've just dropped some forum changes in to optimise the way the thumbnail / photo {} [] links are replaced, so now the photo limit is 1 per post and the thumbnail limit is 10 per post. Hopefully this gives you guys more flexibility for the photo games that have been springing up in the forums recently.
As Fotothing said a few posts ago - the scavenger hunt is a 'work in progress' ie. we're making up the rules as we go along.
I'm a big fan of group based activities on FT, expect to see more group themes, challenges and competitions.

this first run is a good way to work out the kinks for sure.... and thanks for the ability to post more thumbnails pics... that should simplify this particular game big time!

one suggestion.... take it or leave it but was thinking the point of a scavenger hunt is to get out and take pics and find stuff..... if we can go back in our archives it kinda sucks the fun out for me.... and it's almost an unfair advantage if a team member has 10's of thousands of pics on their hard drives
just a thought ;-)

Hmm I guess that's up to the judges, but then some time/seasonal considerations might need to be taken into account. I mean you can't expect people in Alaska to take pictures of wildflowers in January. Besides, how would we be able to enforce the time period anyway? Many photo editors strip out the EXIF tags.
I guess you could make a compromise and say something like "5 or more of your photos must be taken after the start of the hunt" that would allow people to have some flexibility.

I disagree for several reasons - which I'm too tired to type now but I think that the current rule is adequate.

Yes, I think current rule is fine as it is but I was trying to take into consideration Lisa's concerns... namely the current rule might favor those with large preexisting photo libraries.

OK, the pedant in me has to comment. They are "Canada Geese". Otherwise every goose with a passport from Canada would valid :) Surprisingly, they seem to be found in MANY, MANY countries.

and i expect that's why each team member doesn't have to come up with all the pictures on the list... technically only one pic
choose your team mates and their planet locations carefully lol ;-)
oh and btw i only brought up the archive thing cause i'm jealous of Jamie and his unicycle pic hehe

In case you didn't know yet... there's a button to the right of that post... [EDIT] you can click it and erase the picture code and that will remove it :-D
Also note that you need to copy the thumbnail size code for posting entries in this thread not the full size one
oh.... and you need to message the other two members of your team to come up with a team name too ;-)

Lisa, looking at the usernames... ( gillardj04, gillard, and gilly123 ) I doubt that he's got a problem with contacting his "other members" to come up with a team name. Team "Gill" maybe?
