I use flash on my D50 rarely, mostly I try to use natural light but yesterday I used it in a church bell tower which hardly had any light, and once again had to contend with the shadow cast from my Tokina 12-24 lens.
I have decided to get an external flash (?) I need something basic which would not cast any shadows and at the moment thats my only reason for getting one.My budget is £100 max.
Any suggestions would be appreciated,thanks.
(Ooops just noticed one was posted earlier about flash will read also.)

SB 600 is your only choice really. But invest in a cord to get it off the camera, can't beat camera in one hand and flash in the other. (or on a poncey bracket).

Thanks Pondy.Im bidding on one now in E bay.
Im also selling my Tokina 12-24 if anyone is interested in the UK.Its on Amazon,it has really nice optics but have to say exposure control is a nightmare !.
When I do get a speedlight, will see how it goes before taking shots with one hand.......

Might also be worth having a look at the Sigma flash guns? I used to use a Sigma flash on a Nikon D70 with no problem...

Thanks Miles
edit (have found sigma flash with nikon fit,it covers down to 17mm,but I am wanting it down to 10mm as Im buying a sigma 10-20 wide angle lens.Is this possible?)

Have used 2 versions of the Sigma EF-500DG ST on my Nikons, and neither were that good, both had variable results, so i wouldn't bother with them. I switched to an SB-800.
Your best bet would be hold out for an SB-600 if you really can.

Sigma do an excellent flash gun which costs about half the price of a Nikon SB range (£130 ish)
Sigma EF-530 DG ST Flashgun to fit Nikon AF
with swivel and bounce head, TTL zoom control etc etc and a powerful kick it is a good investment, which we would not be without.
You don't need to spend £££'s for Nikon kit these days.
