I am very jealous, I always wanted to do that, though the Grand Canyon would be my choise for the trip. Like you Roger I'm more country than big town !

We thought the same Roger. But it is an intriguing place. Wonderful themes and lots to see.
Don't think that the helicopter goes down into the canyon now, just along the rim. But superb views non the less. ENJOY and report......

Roger,
are you gonna visit the Grand Canyon????
if so and you are there for more than a day, a trip down the Bright Angel trail to Indian Gradens and the river is a MUST.
It will take you about 4 hours to go down, and 8 to come back up, but what a trip!!!!!!
also:
In Holland some hotels charge for wireless internet in the room.
Last month I paid 5 euro an hour/ or Euro 9.95 for 24 hours in a number of hotels

Yes, expecting to pay for internet here and there ... most places have been free so far though.

At least you FOUND Internet :) Britain has been more "miss" than "hit"
10 pounds for 24 hours tonight. I was so desperate, I HAD to pay :)

Midworlder - When are you going to be in South Africa? I hope you will be going on Safari. I have been to Namibia and it is a stunning country. Enjoy the rest of your trip!!!! And DragonSpeed you were lucky to pay £10 for 24 hours, most internet cafes are £1-£2 an hour, probably dearer in london. But we can use if for free in our libraries!!!!!!!!

Thanks all ...
Lisa -All the "Trailblazer" tour was great .. photos are a few days off yet though
Brian - just about spent 8 hrs in Vegas airport, free internet and a power plug !! and I found this vacant area apart from a chair so have been catching up with the world.
Lizzie - yes ... at least in theory 6 days in a game park .. a wee mix up about not getting a yellow fever shot before Brazil (travel agents bad advice) could keep me out of SA though ... but I should be able to pick one up before November

Glad you are going on Safari Roger - I hope you get hooked!!!! My sis goes at least once a year and sent her son and his new wife to SA on honeymoon. You will have a brill time I am sure and I am so eager to see the photos when you post some. But I guess I will have to wait. I cant tell you how jealous I am of you going there lol. Because I have been unable to go to SA with my sis, due to health probs, I am an avid watcher of Africam. It is not the same I know but I have seen the big 5 on there +. It is amazing to watch and it is live. Enjoy the rest of your trip!!!

I'll see what happens ... not having the internet for long periods of time will give me more time to find out more about England of course :-)) But I will get even further behind with photos !

We have free wi-fi in Starbucks and Wetherspoons pubs. The landscape is liberally dotted with them so you should have no problem for the price of a coffee.
