I was looking at a photo by Caroot, http://www.fotothing.com/Carroot/photo/0d6adb827110f8c1571df1460569f3b6/ and I noticed that the bulb in the forground was red and everthing else is b&w.
How do you do this?
Thanks,
Pip

you can selectively color things in photoshop. or selectively make things black and white.
this shows one of the several ways it can be done: http://www.photoshopsupport.com/tutorials/or/selective-coloring.html

you turn the image black and white by desaturating it then duplicate layer and use the art history brush to gain the colour where you want it... you can use the eraser to tidy the edges when your done...flatten layers

i'm only experienced with photoshop, but i'm sure there are other programs that can do it. generally though i prefer not to manipulate my photos much, which works nicely because i don't have a good program to edit them in on my computer beyond minor adjustments.
