But I do think there are better ways to generate revenue than showing ads to people who've paid not to see them.
Here's a thought.
An integrated printing service. There are several of these services that allow large sites to integrate the ability to purchase prints. Couple that with an option for PRO members to *sell* prints - and give them a 50/50 revenue share. FT could then make money from every print sold, as well as encouraging people to go PRO because of the ability to make some money themselves.
our photos (most of) are better than webshots , so why not give us more features like that?

I had not said anything because I thought it was a glitz in the system. But now I would like to put my 2 cents in and take my $34.95 out.
I don't put as much pictures on as I used to. So when I was first was given the PRO membership by my mother (Joy34) I was putting a lot up. I also didn't like the ads. I don't put up as much now. But now I come here for the friends I have made. When we renewed my membership this last time it was only because I didn't want the ads and that I love this site so much. But my friendship has been tarnished by the site. Not by the people who contribute their thoughts and pictures but by the people that run this site. I defended those people in some forums and in talks with friends. I too have told people about this site and he has joined. I wish I hadn't. If we have to have the ads than give us more for the money.
I totally understand it cost money to run this site but let's compromise.

Nothing like getting your priority's right yet again! Its nice to know that the money side of things is far more important than the users/supporters of the site! I know when my renewal comes up i will not be putting my hand in my pocket again! FT its about time you run this site properly and maybe you will get more support from the users!
Its not just the ads, it is everything from the featured members list which frankly is laughable... which if memory serves me right tons of people whined about it was changed and has stayed that way since..
The Down time which yeah yeah had to be done... but at the end of the day i have not seen another site have so many problems and take so long to fix as this one!
All that being said the members here are amazing and are the only thing that makes FT even worth logging into!

I can at that time elect to accept the new terms or decline, and revert to non paying member status, or leave for another site.
If I acted like this in my profession I would be reported to the Law Society within a short time.
It tells me that FT and ADVFN does not give a hoot about FT members who have stuck with them and helped build this site to what it is. The fact that many long-time Pro members worked with them and defended them during times of difficult technical problems apparently means zilch to them.
Basic corporate GREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im truly with you my dear friend .....and also beeing you one of the major reasons im staying in FT...
when i try to give up , and alerted for the total lack of interest from ADVN (fotothing ) about us , you know how slaughtered i was in the forum by 2 or 3 wise man that defended the site was the best in the world.....little they knew that they dont love FT more then i do...but , honestly , everyday we feel more disapointed...this site has stood stil in time....remember a few months ago , several members were leaving , and they came up with something like " a new team its taking over , and soon you will notice the diference.........bla bla bla...." yeah right..........
I wont be sending any email to FT , for the simple reason that , since i am a Pro member , i have sent 2 emails , for diferent reasons , and nobody ever even bother to reply........

i think if they have any sense they will be thinking of ways to rectify the situation.... not sure quick fixes and the odd gesture will do it this time guys.... just bring back people who monitor the site everyday 2 or three volunteers will do it! and then a chunk of the battles won!
adverts on no pro members pages only!

Not sure when my subscription runs out but Im not renewing it.Paying doesn`t do me any favours at all.Nice friendly site,intimate,and great format but why pay.???
One answer is that its to keep the site up and running....thats fine, but paying needs to be universal or paying should give "distinctive" privileges....I do not see many at all.....

I still got 39 days more of my PRO membership and I'm glad I haven't decided yet to renew it until this ads ( cookies supplies ) happened :-(( ...so...i'm not disappointed at all...i'm on my way out anyway..:-((
