there are not so many PROs and they make money on ads only if you click on it (up to few cents a click) - I think that since they answered at one point this being an experiment, they will check how much more money they made over the weekend with PRO's pages being full of ads and then will caclulate what brings them more money, then either change back to the previous state or keep the ads, hoping that many pros like their albums and their music on the slide show and being able to upload more photos (non-pros can since few days upload only 5 photos a day)
I know I'm not renewing my membership that will expire shortly.

I've managed to block the ads with an ad blocker (thanks Meg) ... Any risk in doing this ? and no I never used to click on any ads on any other sites before so I'm not missing out on anything I used to look at.

If that is true no site ever makes any money off of me. I have never clicked on any ads.

Ok I mentioned earlier in this post about no ads on my "non-pro" pages
"no-script" will permanently remove "google adsense and all google related ads" on all pages you visit
Google ads are all javascript. disabling ads in firefox will NOT remove them.
"ad-block plus" will block ads and complete frames.
screenshot of how Firefox with proper addons WILL remove the ads.

P.S. I am in support of all of you paying to NOT have adverts but if they do not remove them.

I remember Pewari well. He was a great member and a fabulous supporter of Fotothing.

No there is no risk at all unless it’s that it will annoy Fotothing immensely…. :D

That is the message I just got when I tried to communicate with Roger.
EXCUSE ME FOTOTHING.... I am NOT a SPAMMER and I RESENT the IMPLICATION that I am very much indeed...!!!!!!!!!!
I very seldom send messages and in fact its 15 HOURS since I sent the last one....even I have to sleep sometimes!
I have also been looking to see where it says how many I can send.....I can't find it written though I know it used to be there somewhere.......
Yesterday I seriously thought of upgrading to Pro status today.....as they have now with this seriously pissed me off (not words I normally use), I doubt I shall be willing any time soon to part with the $50 they want to rob from me.......
It's got to be the highest rate on the web......and for what?
As far as I can see its a site full of ads....features that don't work ....have never worked....stand no chance of being fixed any time soon if at all......
Go pull the other one Fotothing......despite what you may think we are not all stupid....!!!!!!!!

not mentioned as a complaint (not a pro after all), just to point out that you guys seem to have as many as us, if i were 'trying' something out, i would probably go a bit less full on initially.

Why not indeed, I can have all of these benefits if I do....
$50 less in my bank account.
Ads on every page (unless I use Firefox with Ad block-Plus...he,he,he.he)
Featured member....doesn't work.
Tech details....works intermittently.
Add favorite photo's.....Has never worked for me and I don't expect change any time soon!
Admin deletes posts in forum.....for no good reason.
Admin changes terms of use.....for reasons only known to them.
Now then fotothingers.....how many are joining the queue to become a Pro member?.... You had better be quick before the rush starts. : D
