I have been a member of Dom's site for quite awhile, although my uploads here far outnumber the uploads at that site. I agree with Lisa that the FT friends are the reasons that I prefer FT over any other site.
However, when many friends decide to leave here for elsewhere, then there comes a point that I give up on FT.
All through my FT membership I have supported and promoted the site. I can name many others on here who also were instrumental in bringing new members to FT. There are members here, (including me) who supported FT to such an extend that they bought year long memberships for others, just because they believed in the site and wanted to assist friends they made here.
As an appreciation from FT for their support, we get spat in the face with this garbage.
Not even the courtesy of an advance consultation. No warning or request for input.
No, they entered into a contract with paying FT members, took the money, and now just unilaterally break the contract. If they insist on going this route, then they should have had the decency to only change the terms of my contract when it is up for renewal, not before. I can at that time elect to accept the new terms or decline, and revert to non paying member status, or leave for another site.
It tells me that FT and ADVFN does not give a hoot about FT members who have stuck with them and helped build this site to what it is. The fact that many long-time Pro members worked with them and defended them during times of difficult technical problems apparently means zilch to them.
Basic corporate GREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have put what will be my 7000th photo on here on dom's site first.

There it's only my 3rd but the way I am feeling about all the crap being thrown at us here it gives me more pride.

I've e-mailed this to info@fotothing.com, but I just happened to find a page, whose profile says she/he is from China, that shows some scenes of a recent Japanese movie. I hope you started working on it.

It is one of the international big issues that some Asian countries make illegal copies on DVDs taken at movie theater and sell them. Those photo entiries at Fotothing I found are obviously plagiarizing not only the copyright of the movie but also the intellectual property.

What is your policy as the FT owner in the case of the above?? What can we do when we find such illegal photos? It would be appreciated if any of you give any suggestions and comments.

Cheers,

doesn't and hasn't worked anywhere for months

i just have support@fotothing.com saved in my email address book.... makes life simple for now until it's fixed

makes life a bit tough for new members that don't know that information tho i suppose :-/

EDIT: I guess it works in gallery pages just not forum pages... that's odd

I don't understand - do you mean a user's page? that only leads to a: stop what you're doing, leave Fotothing, open mail, "send an email" page...:-))

i mean on a gallery page / users page you can click the contact us link and it will at least tell you what the email addy is that you need to use

if you click the contact us link here in the forum it takes you to that error page

:D

ok - I got you

this is what I want replaced with a SIMPLE form page that can be scripted to auto-email to support@fotothing.com - I shouldn't have to stop what I'm doing, open email, sign in, authenticate, go back and copy email addy because I forgot it, type all the same info I could just enter on a form here

almost every single website I visit has this - it's a really simple to implement and much more customer service oriented than telling people "if you want us to know something, send an email!"
