Hi!
I have posted some photographs on my flickr account [ http://www.flickr.com/photos/gauravdhwajkhadka/ ] and
one of the visitors like my one of the photographs and he want it as print of 12" x 18" size , but the problem
is that the photograph he likes is taken by Canon PowerShot A610 camera. it is 5mp camera with 1944 x 2592
dimensions image file, and I have done print up to 11" x 14" with Canon PowerShot A610 camera image file without
doing any software help. But do not know that it can be able to make up to 12" x 18" print. So need help, how I
can able to make up to 12" x 18" with out losing any quality of photograph with small size of 2mb with 1944 x 2592
dimensions...
Please do help me out cause he is offering me a quite awesome amount for that photograph.
Thank you,
Gaurav Dhwaj Khadka

You could try selling it to him as an electronic file on a CD and let him worry about getting it printed? Otherwise if you know someone with an upsizing program like Genuine Fractals (Google onOne Software for their site), that could work.
Many professional large format printers will use RIP (Raster Image Processing) software which can help resize images upwards with very good results, so have a word with some printing companies with a view to having it professionally printed.
Hope that helps.

Photoshop is your best bet. I can blow up to around 3 times original size without too much quality loss.

Guarev,
You should play with different algorithms for enlarging the image to see which one works best for you. I don't know what software you already have available, but check out Image Analyser at http://meesoft.logicnet.dk/ and add the fractal resizer http://meesoft.com/Analyzer/Plugins/FractInterpolation.dll to the program after installation. You should also try the adaptive noise reduction before or after enlargement, to see if that helps keep the noise under control.

If it is still the original 5mp file you can have it printed up to 20" x 30" without any real loss in quality. 1944 x 2592 is a 5mp size so if your file is still this size you can have any photoprinter print it as 12 x 18(although that isn't a standard US size perhaps in Nepal it is).
